Kenneth Allan HEATON Sr.(1947 - 2017)
HEATON,
Kenneth
Allan, Sr.
(Age 70)
Ken was born June 16, 1947 in Longview, WA to Mima Lee and Marvin Heaton. He moved to Spokane when he was six months old and lived here his entire life. He went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 4, 2017 and joins his granddaughter Alexius in Heaven. Ken went into the Navy right out of high school and served his country from 1965-1967 during the Vietnam War. He then worked as a truck driver for 21 years which left him with chronic back pain so he went back to school and worked for DSHS for over 10 years. When he left state service, he became a security guard until his health failed. Ken was a single parent to his sons Kenny and Kevin. They were active in many sports and he watched every game. You could definitely hear him from the sidelines cheering them on! Ken and Jan met in 1994 and it was love at first sight. They married on April 17, 1995. Jan brought her kids Cari, Darrel, and Wendy, along with two granddaughters. Ken and Jan helped plant New Creation Fellowship and Ken was an elder there. He was friendly and out-going with a great sense of humor. Many more grandchildren followed. Ken and Jan adored them and loved spending time with them. Then they were blessed with great-grandkids! Ken loved the babies. He would light up when he saw them. Ken is survived by his mom Mima Lee, his sons Kevin, Kenny (Stephanie), and Darrel (Sidney) and his two daughters Cari and Wendy, 15 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He always said "We are one family; there are no steps." We miss you so much Ken/Dad/Grampa but we know we will see you again in Heaven. A Memorial Service will be at New Creation Fellowship, 1515 E. Farwell Road, Spokane, WA 99218 at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 15th.
