It is with sadness and heartache that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, and friend, JoAnn "Jody" Cantrell, on October 19, 2024. She passed away peacefully in Spokane Valley.
Jody was born on December 23, 1946, in Olympia, WA, as the only child of Mitchell and Opal Reed. She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1965.
She has now been reunited with her loved ones, especially her cherished husband, Doug Cantrell, and her son, Marc Cantrell, whom she missed dearly since their passing. Together, Doug and Jody owned and operated Spring Crest Draperies in Spokane Valley, a business they proudly established in March 1978.
Jody was known for her genuine love, kindness, radiant smile, and infectious laugh. She brought joy and warmth to all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Riggs; granddaughters, Lindsay Cantrell, Bella Riggs, and Maci Riggs; and her great-grandson, Micah.
A celebration of life will be held on December 8, 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM, at Craft & Gather in Spokane Valley. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Humane Society or Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
