OLSON, Del Richard "Rick"

Del Richard "Rick" Olson went to be with the saints, February 11th, 2017. Born May 22nd, 1947 Spokane. After graduating Lewis and Clark High School enlisted in the Army. Rick served in Vietnam as a Green Beret where he received the Bronze Star. He left the army and worked at getting a pilot's license. He went to various colleges in Spokane and Los Angeles and then returned to the army and became a helicopter pilot. He served his country in Germany and Korea. He was an instructor in Texas before retiring from the service after 20 years. He returned to Spokane and then flew for MedStar Spokane, DNR Fire service, finally flying in Barrow Alaska. He attended Life Center Church in Spokane, Rick was a supporter of Union Gospel Mission and World Vision. He was a friend and brother to many and will be greatly missed. Survived by the Carter, Sproule, Isom and Kuehl Families. A celebration of his life will be held later. Please support Union Gospel Mission Spokane and their fine work.
