Tribute Celebrating the Life of Terry L. Casey, (Chooch)
On November 6, 2023, our dear friend and beloved family member, Terry L. Casey, embarked on his final adventure. Born on February 4, 1947, in the vibrant city of Seattle, Washington, to Nancy and John Casey, Terry's journey was filled with joy and cherished moments. In 1949, the Casey family set forth on their own adventure, moving to Spokane, Washington, where Terry's heart found its forever home. Terry's life was a masterpiece built with passion and purpose. He graduated from Lewis & Clark High School. Served in the Washington National Guard for 6 years proving he displayed a commitment to community and country. However, it was the Burlington Northern Rail Road that truly captured Terry's dedication. For an incredible 30 years, he rode the rails, weaving stories and connections across the miles. His retirement at the age of 50 marked the beginning of new chapters in his life. Terry was not only a skilled tradesman but also a man of boundless energy and enthusiasm. His love for building and remodeling in a home knew no bounds, from laying tile, installing sheet rock, roofing and flooring, or crafting the very structure of dreams. He was always ready to lend a hand, ensuring that family and friends found their visions realized. This vivacious man had multiple families, each as diverse and thrilling as the last. Skydiving adventures brought together individuals of all ages, from 18 to 70, he shared the exhilaration of the skies. Motorcycle rides on epic trips including Sturgis 12 times, forged enduring bonds through the open road. The CDA boating family navigated waves of fun and laughter. Terry's Rat Pack meet-up group embraced the great outdoors, indulging in hiking, camping, and kayaking. And let's not forget the cherished group of family and friends who ran Bloomsday together, proving that the bonds of friendship can conquer any distance. Terry's legacy lives on through his cherished Sister Robin Morissey and Brother in Law Ron, his Sister in Law, Barby Casey, his loving companion of 12 years, Charmaine Devaney and her extended family. Also his nieces, Jill & Kirk Correll and Erin & Jamie Donahoe, and nephews, Scott & Sheri Morissey and Mathew Casey. His spirit is carried forward by Kasey, Sara, Ryan, Jessa, Sam, Nathan, and his great nephew Jed Miller, along with the countless special friends who have been touched by his presence. Terry's journey was preceded in death by his brother, John Casey, who surely welcomed him with open arms on the other side. In accordance with Terry's wishes, there will be no formal services held. Instead, let us celebrate his life by remembering the joy, laughter, and shared adventures that he brought into each of our lives. Terry L.
