Michael Eugene Hobbs (70) passed away August 23, 2017 in Spokane WA.
Michael was born in Hartford CT to Walter R. and Anita M. Hobbs. Michael was the oldest of six siblings. Michael and his family lived in multiple cities before settling in Spokane WA in 1964. Michael graduated from Lewis & Clark High School class of 1965. While attending Lewis & Clark Michael met his wife of 51 years Londa Lee (LaBounty) Hobbs. In 1966 Michael enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served four years stationed at Naval Base Miramar, San Diego CA. Michael served his time aboard the USS Constellation (CV-64) and the USS Coral Sea (CVB-43). Michael performed three cruises/tours to Vietnam while serving his time aboard the carriers. Michael left the Navy in 1969 and returned to Spokane WA with wife Londa and first born son Troy Gene Hobbs. The family settled into a small South Hill home were he lived (47 years) until his passing.
In 1970 Michael joined the Spokane Police Department and proudly served as a Patrol and Motors Officer for 14 years. Michael was loyal to the Department and loved to help the citizens of the community. In 1976 Michael and Londa welcomed their second son into the world, Shawn Michael Hobbs. Michael chose to take on a different career in 1985 and became a long haul truck driver. Michael worked for a local trucking firm for 28 years until his retirement in 2014. In Michael's time away from work he enjoyed Harley Davidsons, Corvettes, boating on Lake Roosevelt and late winter muzzleloading hunts with family.
Michael was ill a very short time with liver disease. He passed away peacefully at the Hospice House (Hospice of Spokane) with his loving wife of 51 years by his side. Michael was preceded in death by his parents Walter R. and Anita M. Hobbs and siblings Jacki Sue (Blackburn) and Patrick Lynn. Michael is survived by his wife Londa Lee, son Troy G. (wife Denise), son Shawn M. Hobbs along with four spectacular grandchildren. Devin, Jason, Sarah and Mia Hobbs. Michael also leaves siblings Charlotte (Lawrence) Harpster, Charlene (George) Wright and Patrick (Kathy) Hobbs.
We will all miss his love tremendously!

A private family celebration of life will be held September 2, 2017.
